Combat demo now available for tactical RPG Never’s End via Steam

Hypersect has launched a playable combat demo for their upcoming indie tactical RPG, Never’s End. You can find it on the game’s Steam page.

Never’s End, revealed last year, is a strategy RPG set in a world that’s created randomly each time you play. A key feature is its unique magic system – you can alter the environment, like changing the temperature, to affect battles. This could mean creating gusts of wind, freezing your opponents, or even setting them ablaze.

You can watch a new trailer for Never’s End below, with details provided by Hypersect. The game is scheduled to launch in 2026 on PlayStation 5 and PC (via Steam).

Never’s End, a strategy RPG with detailed, system-focused battles and magic that lets you change the environment, is now available to play with a free demo on Steam.

Never’s End, a new game from indie studio Hypersect (founded by a former lead engineer from Bungie), is coming to PC via Steam and PlayStation 5 in 2026. A demo released today showcases the game’s unique combat system and stunning 3D pixel art world. The game features character designs by Masayoshi Nishimura, known for his work on Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy, and a soundtrack by Doseone, composer for Enter the Gungeon.

Discover a range of exciting environments, from burning deserts and frozen tundras to secure bases and dangerous underground tombs. You can take control of the people in nearby towns and have them fight for you, with each person having unique skills and jobs that impact how they perform. Plus, try out different weapons, armor, and items, and master the game’s special magic system.

The combat demo for Never’s End lets players experience the game’s first magic system, which centers around controlling heat.

I got to try out the demo, and it’s packed with all the stuff you’ll find in the full game. It’s really cool – you can manipulate heat to create wind, which lets you do things like kick up dust to obscure vision or even shove enemies off edges. There’s also elemental magic – I was freezing and setting enemies on fire! You can even change the weather – I messed around with fog, rain, and snow. The more I played, the more I realized how versatile the magic system is. The developers at Hypersect are really excited to see what players come up with, and honestly, so am I!

Try out the new demo for Never’s End on PC through Steam today! The full game, Never’s End, will be released on PC and PlayStation 5 in 2026, and will support English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese languages.
