The first trailer for the movie Reminders of Him is now available. The film is based on the popular novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover. Hoover’s books have gained a lot of attention online, with many becoming viral sensations and leading to several movie and TV adaptations currently in the works.
The 2022 film Reminders of Him tells the story of Kenna Rowan (played by Maika Monroe), a woman trying to rebuild her life after a tragic car accident that took the life of her boyfriend while she was driving. After being released from prison, Kenna hopes to connect with the daughter she had with him, but faces opposition from the boyfriend’s family and the man (Tyriq Withers) who is now raising her child. Along with stars Alfie Withers and Jensen Monroe, the movie Reminders of Him also features Lauren Graham, Bradley Whitford, Rudy Pankow, and Lainey Wilson. Colleen Hoover worked on the screenplay with Lauren Levine, and Vanessa Caswill directed the film. Universal Pictures plans to release it on March 13, 2026.
As a big Colleen Hoover fan, I’ve been following all the adaptations of her books, and Reminders of Him is actually the fourth one! Before this, they did a TV series based on Confess back in 2017, and then the It Ends With Us movie, which really put Hoover on the map in Hollywood. That film, starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, was a huge deal, though it unfortunately also led to some legal issues that are still ongoing. And just this year, we also saw Regretting You adapted. It’s exciting to see her stories come to life on screen!
As a huge Colleen Hoover fan, I’m really excited about the upcoming movie adaptations of her books! Reminders of Him is special because it’s the first time she’s been directly involved as a writer on the adaptation, and it’s coming out in 2026 along with another one of her novels, Verity. Verity is a big deal – it’s one of her most loved stories, and they’ve got an amazing cast lined up with Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett! I can’t wait!
Colleen Hoover’s novels are famous for their emotional and dramatic love stories, and her latest, Reminders of Him, follows suit. The story centers on Kenna, who rebuilds her relationship with her daughter and finds love with the man helping her cope after the loss of her boyfriend. It’s unclear if this film will achieve the same commercial success as her previous hit, It Ends With Us.
Even though critics weren’t overly impressed, It Ends With Us earned a significant $351 million worldwide on a $25 million budget. While Regretting You is expected to be smaller in scale, the studio’s early promotion of Reminders of Him suggests they believe it could be another major success for Colleen Hoover.
