As a longtime follower of Coffeezilla and his tireless efforts to expose cryptocurrency fraud, I can’t help but feel a sense of camaraderie with this internet detective who fearlessly tackles the murky world of digital finance. His latest brush with Hollywood-style fame, however, left me scratching my head in disbelief.
In a lighthearted manner, well-known cryptocurrency investigator Coffeezilla playfully accused Netflix when they incorporated footage from his YouTube videos into one of their documentaries, apparently without informing him beforehand.
Coffeezilla is one of the net’s top investigators into cryptocurrency schemes, having uncovered a swath of alleged financial fraud and even shining light on influencer-backed crypto ‘scams.’
It’s not unexpected, considering his extensive network, that he featured in the financial crime documentary ‘The Largest Swindle Ever,’ distributed by Netflix. However, Coffee claims he received no contact from Netflix regarding this production at all.
Instead, he began receiving notifications from relatives and admirers informing him that they had seen him in the documentary. Intrigued, he decided to watch it, only to discover his personal videos incorporated within the production, a sight that left him astonished.
Coffeezilla baffled to find himself in Netflix documentary
As a gamer, I can’t help but feel like Netflix is giving me a hard time when they used my footage under Fair Use in their documentary. It’s even more frustrating because they reached out to me four years ago for commentary on another doc, only to pass on including me in the end. Now, it seems like they’re just messing with me by using my content without giving proper credit.
Netflix placed his name in the closing credits instead, making it so that most viewers would miss his name before the next episode automatically started playing due to the autoplay feature.
The YouTube content creator voiced frustration over the clips Netflix selected for their platform, believing they didn’t accurately depict him as a dedicated “investigator” – a persona he prefers to be recognized by.
Specifically, Coffee pointed out a video Netflix shared which depicted him making jokes about Razzlekhan, a rapper involved in a billion-dollar cryptocurrency scam. He suggested that Razzlekhan deserved to be imprisoned simply because he found him “unbearably cheesy.
Based on Netflix’s assessment, it appears I mete out prison terms based on what I find cringeworthy. It’s true that we all express ourselves in ways we later regret, and I’m not denying that I may have said something along those lines. However, I want to clarify that my decision-making process is more nuanced than that.
If it happens that you’ll have me on Netflix, please avoid portraying a moment where I said something foolish. Instead, highlight some of my designs and narrate some stories where I’ve truly put in the effort.
In the end, he confessed that the whole scenario struck him as “amusing,” and it seemed like he wasn’t truly distressed about the issue with the streaming service.
The popular trend now is to adapt coffee into a television series format, with YouTube sensation MrBeast set to debut his groundbreaking “Beast Games” show, airing on Amazon Prime Video starting December 19.
