Bandai Namco announced the release dates for *Code Vein II* during a recent State of Play presentation. The game will launch in Japan on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on January 29, 2026. Players on PC (via Steam) and the rest of the world on consoles will be able to play starting January 30th.
Shortly after the State of Play presentation, the company shared more information about the game during a Japanese broadcast. In Code Vein II, players create a customizable character who becomes a Revenant Hunter. They’ll travel 100 years into the past to investigate why Revenants in the present are losing control and threatening to destroy the world.
Okay, so the story in this game is seriously cool – it’s all about time travel! You’ll be dealing with these undead guys called Revenants and regular humans, and you can jump back and forth between the past and present. But here’s the thing: whatever you *do* in the past actually changes the present, which means the story can go in totally different directions depending on your choices. It’s like, your actions have real consequences, and you can unlock completely new storylines. Pretty awesome, right?
Similar to the original Code Vein, you’ll be able to use powerful blood-draining attacks with a new item called the Jail. The game will feature a wide selection of Weapons, Jails, and Spells, letting you customize how you play. The popular Buddy system returns, but with new options: you can now summon your Buddy to fight alongside you, or use their power to enhance your own attacks.
The official Japanese website for Code Vein II features a character section detailing the main characters and listing the voice actors who play them.
