The publishing company Anshar Publishing, along with a two-person development team named Aftnareld, have disclosed that their upcoming cooperative, creature-riding Action RPG titled Coridden is set to release for PC on January 29, 2025. In this game, players can choose to embark on the adventure either alone or with a group of up to four individuals. The unique feature of Coridden allows players to transform between their human form and the beasts they conquer throughout the game.

As you progress through the action-packed, colorful world, you will have the opportunity to enhance both your human and beast abilities. Your journey will lead you to unravel the ominous secrets that lurk within this fascinating realm.

Initially, Coridden aimed to develop an immersive cooperative scenario where one player assumes control of a powerful beast, attacking and maneuvering, while the other rides on its back, targeting enemies. This concept soon grew into a role-playing game with a cooperative aspect, reminiscent of classic RPGs such as Diablo, Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance, Champions of Norrath, and Baldur’s Gate 2: Shadows of Amn.

Regarding the upcoming launch, Feanen, Community Manager at Anshar, shared that “Coridden” introduces an exciting spin on shape-shifting: conquer a monster to acquire the ability to transform into it. The transformation is seamless and intuitive, providing you with a fresh array of skills. However, the core appeal is in the combat system of Coridden – uncover intriguing elemental interactions, layer effects, and engage in thrilling battles against hordes of monsters!

Not only does Coridden invite you to join forces with your friends for exciting expeditions, but also offers the chance to traverse wilderness areas, tackle ecological conundrums, and discover secret loot. Have a go at it!

In Coridden, explorers can embark on an adventure either solo or with a group of up to 3 companions, delving into the enigmatic city of Aasha in search of hidden, ominous truths. Boost your abilities by discovering novel gear and mastering skills for both your human and beast personas, ultimately amassing enough strength to protect what you cherish most.

Fundamentally, Coridden emphasizes the idea that cooperative games are not just enjoyable, but they also foster connections among individuals.

  • Become a shifter: Switch between your human and beast form freely to utilize each form’s strengths and skills when needed. The different beast forms are not only formidable in fights, but you can also use them to faster traverse and overcome obstacles in the world.
  • Action-focused combat: Experience intense combat action where both your own skills and character gear matter. Learn when to attack, dodge, jump, shapeshift, and use your abilities to effectively take out the aggressive beasts, bandits, and machines that you’ll encounter on your journey.
  • Grow your powers: Build up both your human and monster form with new gear, attributes, and active and passive skills as you level up. Choose from 4 human classes and train one or more of the 7 beast masteries available.
  • Ride out in co-op: Up to 4 players can play together in drop-in/drop-out co-op gameplay, both offline/locally and online. In co-op, you also unlock a special team mechanic: ride on each other’s back to become a strong cavalry unit together!
  • Explore the world of Heera: Take the role of one of four siblings, each one with their own distinct personality, opening up for different sidequests and choices in conversations. Alongside your main mission, you can explore the open areas further to find hidden treasures and complete side quests in an unusual science fantasy world.
