Clue is a classic board game enjoyed by many, and after becoming a popular movie in the 1980s, it’s now being adapted into a competitive reality show on Netflix.
Clue is a board game where players solve a murder mystery. They have to guess who committed the crime – was it Miss Scarlett, Colonel Mustard, or Professor Plum? – and with what weapon, like a candlestick, rope, or revolver.
The game first came out in the UK in 1949 as Cluedo. When it was released in the US, the name was shortened to Clue.
A film version of the story came out in 1985, featuring Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, and Lesley Ann Warren. Now, Netflix is turning the game into a real-life competition show.
Clue gameshow will feature “physical and mental challenges”
Okay, so this is pretty cool – Hasbro and Netflix are making a real-life version of Clue! It’s not going to be a scripted drama, though. Instead, it’s going to be a competition show where people actually try to solve a murder mystery, just like the board game. Deadline has the details, but basically, it’s Clue, but real!
This show puts a group of players to the test with both physical and mental challenges. They’ll gather clues, then use those clues to solve a real-life mystery filled with twists and turns. To win, contestants must be smarter than their rivals and figure out exactly who committed the crime, where it happened, and how.
Correct answers increase the prize money, but incorrect guesses could lead to elimination. Players will encounter well-known characters like Colonel Mustard, Miss Scarlett, Professor Plum, and Mrs. White.
We don’t have a release date for the new Clue show yet, but Jeff Gaspin, a Vice President at Netflix, explained that the show aims to capture the nostalgic fun of the classic game, which many people have enjoyed with family and friends over the years.
We’re excited to bring a new, creative mystery competition to life, thanks to the amazing ideas from our partners at Hasbro Entertainment, IPC, and B17. It’s designed to draw modern viewers into a beloved and familiar setting.
Netflix is creating a reality show based on the Monopoly board game. Plus, the second season of *Squid Game The Challenge* will be released shortly, and you can find information on how to apply for the third season.
