It doesn’t take much to kickstart a new trend in video games – sometimes just one clever idea is enough. These kinds of innovative moves often come from independent developers who prioritize fun and creativity over profits. A recent example is the hit game Balatro, which has inspired others. Now, another interesting title, CloverPit, has arrived on Steam. It’s built around the classic one-armed bandit slot machine. Despite being jokingly called a “never-ending debt simulator,” CloverPit actually has endings – two of them, in fact. This guide will show you how to achieve both the good and bad conclusions.
Good and bad ending in CloverPit. How to get them?
Although CloverPit features slot machines, it’s not actually about gambling or addiction. The developers say it’s a game about overcoming those struggles and escaping them. There are two possible endings – a good one and a bad one – but you need to fulfill a specific requirement before you can achieve either.
Obtaining 4 corpse pieces
Before you can finish the game, you need to collect 4 corpse parts. Getting these parts isn’t simple – you’ll first need to unlock 4 drawer slots, and you do that by finding keys. Keep in mind that you can only get one key per attempt, so you’ll likely need to play through the game at least 3 times to find enough.
You can find the necessary parts in the shop, but the quickest way to get them is to finish a run with all your drawers full of items. When you start a new run, those items will automatically turn into body parts. The only part you might still need to find is a head, but those are usually available in the shop since they appear frequently.
Now that you’ve collected all the remains and placed them in the chest of drawers, you can continue and achieve either of the game’s endings.
Bad ending
The ‘bad ending’ is the simplest to achieve – you just need to collect 250,000 coins. There aren’t any other conditions to meet. However, if you have the ‘Delusions of Grandeur’ memory card, the coin requirement will be doubled.
Okay, so I finally hit a quarter million coins in CloverPit! That unlocks the dark key, which I can use to get out through the back door. Honestly, it feels a little sad, because that means I’ve reached the bad ending. Still, it’s cool to see everything through!
Good ending
To achieve the desired outcome, you’ll need to be extra careful when answering phone calls. If a call is highlighted in red, simply select the “be right back” option and don’t engage further. Successfully handling a red call like this will earn you one mark on the 666 floppy disk, and you need three marks total. To increase your chances, choose the “Heartbreak” memory card. This guarantees at least one red call will appear during the final round of every deadline starting with the third one.
Once you’ve met all the requirements and have 3,666 marks saved on your floppy disk, your phone will start receiving special calls that unlock sacred charms. Plus, your dark key will turn white, allowing you to use it on the door behind you and achieve the good ending in CloverPit. Best of luck!
