Cillian Murphy, known for his role in Peaky Blinders, shared a story about a frightening airport encounter. He was questioned by armed men after airport security found a bullet resembling those used by his character, Tommy Shelby, in his luggage.
The Peaky Blinders universe is expanding! The spinoff movie, ‘The Immortal Man,’ is currently playing in theaters and will soon be available on Netflix. Plus, a new series is in the works, featuring the next generation of the Shelby family.
Recently, we had a conversation with Stephen Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, about how the show will conclude. Paul Anderson, who plays Arthur Shelby, explained why his character won’t be in the upcoming film, and a descendant of a real Peaky Blinder expressed concerns that the show portrays gangsters in a way that fans find appealing.
Cillian Murphy has been promoting the film and, in a conversation with co-star Rebecca Ferguson, shared a story about a near mishap involving a stolen prop.

While chatting, Rebecca Ferguson playfully asked Cillian Murphy if he’d ever taken anything from the set of Peaky Blinders – she jokingly called it “liberating” items instead of stealing.
Murphy explained, “I still have a bullet I accidentally tried to take on the plane, and it caused a bit of a problem.”
Ferguson asked if the item had his name on it. Murphy responded that it said ‘Tommy’ – referring to his character from Peaky Blinders – and that it was returned to him. He described a chaotic scene where many armed people arrived.
I found it at the bottom of my bag and immediately panicked, apologizing profusely. It turned out to be a dummy bullet, just a casing with the name ‘Tommy’ on it. I told them they could have it, I just really wanted to catch my flight. It was a stressful but ultimately successful day – I did make the plane!
Hearing the story—and learning Murphy wasn’t punished for what happened—Ferguson exclaimed with disbelief, “That’s just how it is with celebrities!”
