As a seasoned Soulsborne veteran with over 200 hours clocked into Dark Souls and Bloodborne alone, the announcement of Chrono Sword entering Early Access on December 5th has sent my heart racing like a mad dash through Blighttown. The tantalizing blend of pixel art and Soulslike gameplay has been a beacon in the gaming world for me ever since its initial reveal in 2019, and I can’t help but feel like I’ve stumbled upon a long-lost relic while rummaging through an attic.
For those who enjoy Souls-like games or pixel art, or both, Chrono Sword is likely on your watchlist. Although it offers a new perspective to this distinctive genre fusion, its launch date has been shrouded in secrecy – until recently. The creators, 21c.Ducks, have now confirmed that the game will debut in Early Access very soon! Let’s explore more about it!
Chrono Sword is set to launch in Early Access on December 5th
“Chrono Sword” is an action RPG with pixel art style, resembling the challenging gameplay of Soulslike series. It’s set in a dark fantasy world called Adelnor, where you can journey between different time periods to uncover its secrets. First announced in 2019, the game is now ready for some players to experience – partially at least, as it will be released gradually.
The game is set to debut on Steam’s Early Access platform on December 6th. However, the complete version is scheduled for release on platforms such as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC at a later time. As per the developers, the Early Access build will encompass around one-third of the final game’s total content, offering three regions, multiple types of monsters and bosses, and a selection of gear.
Although you’re just getting a taste of the full adventure, there’s lots more to explore. This is an excellent chance to find out if Chrono Sword might be the breakthrough title in the Soulslike genre. Keep an eye out for future announcements as we reveal more information!
