A new trailer for The Odyssey has arrived.
Renowned director Christopher Nolan is making a movie based on Homer’s classic story of Odysseus, the hero’s decade-long trip back home following the Trojan War. Matt Damon, who previously appeared in Nolan’s films Interstellar and Oppenheimer, will star as Odysseus in this new adaptation.
I was watching The Late Show with Stephen Colbert the other night, and they dropped a brand new trailer for The Odyssey! It was a cool surprise, and I had to share it – you can check it out below.
The film boasts a stellar cast, including Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Odysseus’s wife, and Tom Holland as their son, Telemachus. Robert Pattinson plays Antinous, one of Penelope’s many suitors, while Zendaya portrays the goddess Athena and Charlize Theron is cast as the nymph Calypso. Jon Bernthal appears as King Menelaus, alongside his brother Agamemnon, played by Benny Safdie, and Lupita Nyong’o will also star in an as-yet-unrevealed role, alongside Damon.
There’s been huge excitement for this film, with tickets for special IMAX 70mm showings selling out in under an hour – even though they went on sale a year early! Christopher Nolan’s movies are always popular with both critics and audiences, and people especially love seeing them in the best possible theater settings.
More to come…
The Odyssey releases in theaters on July 17.
