Three years have passed since the release of God of War: Ragnarok, and Sony has successfully kept any plans for a sequel a secret. While another God of War game seems likely, Christopher Judge hopes a future installment would be set in Egypt.
I’ve been a huge fan of Christopher Judge for years – I first loved him as Teal’c in Stargate SG-1! But lately, I’ve been blown away by his voice work as Kratos in the God of War games, starting with the 2018 reboot. It’s been amazing seeing Kratos battle gods from Greek and then Norse mythology. Recently, I heard Judge talking about what he’d like to see in a future game, and I was so excited to hear he’s hoping they’ll bring in some Egyptian mythology, like from his Stargate days! That would be incredible.
Judge, best known for playing Teal’c on Stargate, recently said at MCM London Comic Con that visiting Egypt would feel like a personal fulfillment. He also expressed confidence that any future game in the series, regardless of its mythological setting, would be excellent (as reported by GamesRadar).
Rumors have circulated for a while about a potential God of War spin-off taking place in ancient Greece, but it seems that game has been delayed until 2026. Cory Barlog, the director of God of War, has teased a new project from Sony Santa Monica, though he hasn’t confirmed if it’s another installment in the God of War series.
Amazon Prime Video is still developing a live-action ‘God of War’ series, but they haven’t announced who will play the main characters yet.
