As a seasoned movie buff with decades of comedy and entertainment under my belt, I can confidently say that Chris Rock is a true master of his craft. His recent stint hosting Saturday Night Live was nothing short of brilliant, as he effortlessly navigated through various hot topics with his signature wit and charm.
On Saturday night, Chris Rock was the host of “Saturday Night Live” and peppered his opening monologue with humor related to various current news stories.
In his comedy routine, he took aim at Jake Paul and his boxing bout with Mike Tyson, making light of the situation by saying, “Here’s a 27-year-old throwing punches at a 60-year-old. Is this the new low for white men? Who’s next on his list, Morgan Freeman? I can’t stand Jake Paul. I have landlord-level frustration with him.
He also didn’t mince words about the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, saying, “I really feel sorry for the family. Everybody’s fixated on how good-looking this guy is. If he looked like Jonah Hill, no one would care. They’d give him the chair already — he’d be dead. But he actually killed a man. A man with a family. I mean, they have my condolences. This is a real person, you know? But you also got to go, you know, sometimes drug dealers get shot.”
Elon Musk and incoming President Trump also got skewered by the comedian.
The comic has previously presented the satirical comedy show, delivering witty remarks concerning the pandemic and political issues during 2020 and 2014.
Rock was also a cast member on SNL from 1990 to 1993.
