Instead of a typical Super Bowl commercial, Chipotle is focusing on a social media campaign that could give away as much as $1 million in free food to people watching the game.
On February 8th, the fast food chain will release a special Instagram Reel as soon as an ad created by AI airs during the Super Bowl. The first 100,000 fans to react will get a code for a free menu item.
The brand is also offering special nacho bundles for a limited time through its app, starting a few days before the game.
How Chipotle’s Super Bowl giveaway works

Rather than run a traditional commercial during the big football game, Chipotle is taking a different approach. They’re planning to air an ad created by artificial intelligence after halftime, just before the third quarter begins.
Shortly after, the brand will share a Reel on Instagram called “The Chipotle Realest 30” that features a code you can use to redeem an offer.
According to Chipotle, the promotion will run as follows:
- A one-time 30-second Reel will be posted to Instagram featuring a claim code
- The first 100,000 people to text the code to 888222 will receive a free entrée
- Standard text and data rates apply
Chipotle uses only real ingredients – no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives – in its food. So, when you see an AI-powered ad from us during a TV event, it’s our way of celebrating and giving fans what they truly crave: authentic, real food, explained Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle’s Interim Chief Marketing Officer.
You can use the free entrée codes in the U.S. until February 12th for any entrée on the regular menu, while supplies last.
Game Day Nacho Hacks launch in the app

In addition to the giveaway, Chipotle is offering three special “Game Day Nacho Hacks” for a limited time. You can only find these hacks on the Chipotle app and website from February 5th to February 8th.
These online-only bundles are perfect for sharing with a small group – think three or four people. They come with chips, queso, guacamole, and a variety of salsas, and you can add protein if you’d like.
The three options include:

Chipotle isn’t the only brand offering special deals for the Super Bowl. Buffalo Wild Wings is once again giving away free wings, and Heinz has created a massive seven-pound container of ketchup called the “Kegchup” for parties.
