A new Chinese AI called Seedance 2.0 is becoming incredibly popular online for its ability to generate fresh episodes featuring characters from well-loved anime series like Dragon Ball and Pokemon.
Artificial intelligence video technology is improving quickly. New models are constantly being released, offering better tools, audio quality, and more realistic-looking results.
While there have been some impressive models before, Seedance 2.0 might be in a league of its own.
This app, created by the same company behind TikTok (ByteDance), can turn still images from manga comics into fully animated scenes. This allows for the creation of new anime content, like extended episodes of series such as Dragon Ball Super’s Moro arc.
Seedance 2.0 is making new Dragon Ball episodes and Olympic videos
Across social media, users have been going viral showcasing the ways they’ve used Seedance 2.0.
A clip showed someone using a panel from the Dragon Ball Super manga, specifically from the Moro arc, which was recently confirmed to be in development.
Seedance 2.0 has created an animated version of a Dragon Ball manga panel that hasn’t been officially animated yet, and the result is amazing!

Just one prompt later, they were able to bring the manga panels to life.
I just created an animated version of a Dragon Ball manga panel that’s never been animated before, and the result is amazing!
The video featured Goku, using his Ultra Instinct ability, fighting Moro. Though it clearly came from the manga – with text occasionally visible on the screen – the animation was still very impressive.

I saw this amazing artwork online – someone drew Goku from Dragon Ball fighting Doraemon in a World Martial Arts Tournament setting! It was such a cool and unexpected matchup, really captured the energy of those classic Dragon Ball fights.
The video’s creator explained they made it by combining an image of a fight between two characters with the prompt, ‘Figure 1 character fighting against Figure 2 character in the World Martial Arts Tournament.’ The video has since been viewed over 2.3 million times.
It too was unique, with multiple camera shots and smooth animation.
Wow, SeeDance 2 is incredible! It’s basically recreated an entire episode of Dragon Ball Super, and the scene of Bulma versus Beerus is a stunning achievement.

Someone created an amazing 90-second-plus fight scene featuring Bulma and Beerus! It’s surprising to see Bulma going toe-to-toe with a God of Destruction.
Similar videos also became incredibly popular online. For example, one clip showcasing Pokémon battles—and looking just like it came straight from the animated series—has garnered over 600,000 views.
Wow, this video looks like it was created by AI! It was actually the very first thing I made using Seedance 2. Honestly, you’d never know it wasn’t real if you just saw it in your social media feed.
The prompt I used was: ‘photorealistic shot of the women’s snowboard big air competition at the Olympics. The snowboarder from…’

Elsewhere, users generated videos of the Olympics and other sports with simple prompts.
Seedance 2.0 is very new, and based on its early success, it’s hard to predict just how powerful Seedance 3.0 will be when it’s released.
