Cling to Blindness is a new horror game that challenges you to survive using only sound.
What makes a horror game truly scary varies from person to person. For some, sudden shocks or a creepy backstory are enough to create a terrifying experience.
Sometimes, the scariest part isn’t the monster itself, but the technology used to create the experience. This can include things like the game using your webcam to make it seem like the monster is watching you, or mimicking the actions and voices of your friends.
Honestly, what really gets to me in horror isn’t always *seeing* the monster, it’s the fear of what you *don’t* know. And this game, Cling to Blindness, totally nails that feeling. You play the whole thing blindfolded – seriously! You have to rely completely on sound to figure out what’s going on, because there’s nothing to see on the screen. It’s terrifying!
New Cling to Blindness horror game is meant to be played blindfolded
Cling to Blindness, created by Lizardy, centers around Satsuki and her quest to finish a ritual in a deserted village. The game has three core rules players need to remember, as highlighted in its trailer and description.
First, keep your blindfold on at all times. Second, make sure Ashioto doesn’t catch you. Finally, you must find all five talismans.
This game is played entirely by sound. You’ll move around using your mouse and listen for clues to guide you. It’s played from a first-person view – left-click to move forward, and move your mouse to look around and pinpoint the location of sounds.
For the best experience, we recommend using headphones. A blindfold isn’t really necessary, as the game doesn’t rely on visuals displayed on a screen.
Developers say this game avoids cheap jump scares. It focuses on sound to create atmosphere, making it a good option for players who don’t typically enjoy traditional horror games.
They also advised that if you start to feel sick, you should stop playing right away.
Cling to Blindness is already listed as “Coming Soon” at the time of writing on Steam. Though those who attend Tokyo Game Show 2025 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, from September 25 to 28, 2025, will be able to play the demo early and obtain a special-themed blindfold, according to FinalWeapon.
