Channing Tatum has shared some new insights about Avengers: Doomsday.
Filming has finished on Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. The movie is scheduled for release next year, with its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, coming in 2027.
What did Channing Tatum say about Avengers: Doomsday?
Channing Tatum will return as Remy LeBeau, also known as Gambit, in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film. He first played the character in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine. In an interview with People, Tatum hinted at the movie’s massive scope and said that, despite the high expectations set by the directors’ previous Marvel films, he’s confident Avengers: Doomsday will satisfy fans.
As a movie fan, I’ve been following this franchise, and honestly, each film just keeps trying to outdo the last. When I got my hands on the script for this new one, my jaw dropped – it’s wild! I really think audiences aren’t prepared for what they’ve done. It’s going to blow everyone’s minds all over again, in the best way possible.
Channing Tatum explained that the directors of Avengers: Doomsday, the Russo brothers, enjoy adding humor to their films, and that element will be present. However, he also emphasized that the movie will primarily be a serious and dramatic story.

He basically has to decide, line by line, whether to really lean into the Cajun dialect for comedic effect, or dial it back to ensure the plot comes across clearly. It’s a constant balancing act, figuring out when to go big with the accent and when to prioritize clarity. He’s really thinking about every single delivery!
Marvel has announced its upcoming movie release dates. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will hit theaters first on July 31, 2026, followed by Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday on December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to arrive on December 17, 2027.
