Last night on Saturday Night Live, Timmy Tim teamed up with some deep cuts from Bobby Bob for a memorable performance. The star of A Complete Unknown took on double duties, both hosting and musical guesting, with James Blake providing backing keyboards. Timothée Chalamet opened the show with a medley of “Outlaw Blues” from 1965’s Bringing It Back Home and “Three Angels” from 1970’s New Morning. As reported by Variety, Chalamet has now sung “Outlaw Blues” live more times than Bob Dylan himself. Interestingly, the only time Dylan performed this song live, Jack White handled the lead vocals. Chalamet also sang “Tomorrow Is a Long Time,” a song that existed in demo form as early as 1960 but wasn’t officially released by Dylan until the 70’s. These less-known choices would make Nardwuar proud.
