Censor’s pull-up world record shattered under a year by another influencer

Doug ‘Censor’ Martin previously set the world record for the highest number of pull-ups performed within 24 hours; however, less than a year after, someone else claimed his title.

On November 7, 2024, professional gamer and content producer ‘Censor’ was acknowledged as a Guinness World Records holder, after accomplishing an impressive feat of performing 9,250 pull-ups within a span of 24 hours.

At first, his attempt wasn’t recognized by Guinness World Records, but later, they acknowledged it. This remarkable feat was accomplished through a collaborative effort with the charity organization, Project Purple.

A little over a year after Censor’s notable accomplishment gained widespread attention, he announced a documentary tracing his path; however, by February 2, 2025, another individual had stepped into his spotlight.

YouTuber beats Censor’s Guinness World Record

On the 2nd of February, YouTube influencer and fitness fanatic Justin Truett surpassed the 24-hour pull-up record set by Censor by an impressive 751 repetitions, bringing his grand total to a staggering 10,001 pull-ups.

Truett shared details about his successful, record-breaking endeavor on Instagram, announcing that he finished over six hours ahead of Censor’s previous record.

Previously, exactly a year ago, Truett made an attempt at setting this record, but for some reason he decided to stop – a point he brought up in his recent statement regarding his latest success.

At times, I ponder on abandoning my pursuit of the record and whether I’d give up other challenges in life simply because they’re difficult. Thankfully, I don’t have to grapple with that decision, for the anguish of regret is much greater than the pain my hands endured or the ache in my arms.

Currently, Censor hasn’t replied to Truett breaking his record, but considering his combative spirit, whether it’s in the game or elsewhere, spectators eagerly anticipate if he’ll aim to reclaim the title.
