Cellar Door Games, known for the Rogue Legacy games, announced their next project, Neath, at the PC Gaming Show. Neath is a roguelike RPG with tactical combat, set in a crumbling world dominated by a strange, glowing tower. The game features a unique turn-based system where the order of turns constantly changes, and players control the actions of both their allies and enemies.

Cellar Door Games’ Kenny Lee shared that their new game, Neath, has been a long-time passion project, inspired by games like Into the Breach and tabletop experiences such as Mansions of Madness. Lee explained that developing Neath pushed the team outside their usual comfort zone, requiring them to explore a darker aesthetic and a new genre. They’re particularly enthusiastic about introducing innovative mechanics like ‘engagement locking’ and the ‘attack resolve system,’ and hope to significantly impact the genre. As Lee enthusiastically put it, “PRAISE NEATH!”

Neath is planned to launch on Steam in 2026. Cellar Door Games is encouraging players to join their Discord server to sign up for chances to participate in closed beta tests next year.
