As a long-time follower of Twitch and the vibrant world of VTubers, I wholeheartedly stand with CDawgVA in his recent video defending IronMouse and other creators like her. It’s disheartening to see the level of unnecessary hate that these individuals have to endure, simply because they choose a unique and innovative approach to their streaming experience.
Following the incident where IronMouse surpassed Kai Cenat’s Twitch subscription record, attracting harassment, CDawgVA has openly expressed his view that creators like IronMouse and other Virtual YouTubers are subjected to unjustified and exaggerated criticism due to their unique streaming styles and content choices.
In the beginning of his video, Connor admitted that he intends to stand up for his longtime friend, IronMouse. However, he also sought to highlight the challenges faced by her and other VTubers in their online experiences.
Although IronMouse received much acclaim from fellow Twitch streamers for her accomplishments, not all creators and spectators share the same positive sentiments.
According to Connor, creators such as IronMouse receive “unjustified hostility” solely due to their decision to broadcast using an avatar instead of showing themselves during the stream. He believes this trend has spiraled excessively.
CDawgVA condemns people who “blindly hate” on VTubers
As a passionate gamer, I recently shared a deep dive into the unusual messages I often encounter, coming from one of the most influential VTubers and Twitch creators – IronMouse. In this video, I unveiled an extensive document spanning 85 pages, highlighting some of the comments that led to bans in her chat.
Topic starts at 15:17
He exclaimed, “This is utterly unbelievable! This is extremely inappropriate! What’s going on here?!” He continued, “If this were my broadcast, I’d simply choose to stop streaming. I’d just stay offline. This situation is intolerable.
Additionally, while many individuals he named were supporters of Kai Cenat, he highlighted that the most popular Twitch broadcaster at present has frequently supported IronMouse in public, praising him for his actions against his audience who harassed her, and encouraging them to cease such behavior.
He stated that it seems as though some people find it acceptable to mock or despise things they don’t comprehend or have no knowledge of online. As a creator, he expressed his discomfort at the thought of his audience mindlessly criticizing others using his platform. He would feel deeply ashamed.
Additionally, he highlighted the fact that IronMouse was forced to leave platforms such as TikTok completely, much like many other VTubers before her. This form of exclusion is not an uncommon occurrence in their community.
He clarified that both mice and many VTubers often encounter a constant stream of criticism which, unfortunately, seems to be considered commonplace in their line of work. Notably, IronMouse appears to have received a particularly large share of such negative comments.
As a dedicated admirer, I can’t help but note that each accolade she earned and honor she received was often met with a torrent of venom and loathing from some quarters, a good deal of which seemed to stem from her status as a VTuber, as CDawgVA points out.
Connor clarified, “This situation has resulted in an unrelenting, relentless flow of hostility that Mouse has been compelled to confront publicly on her social media platforms for quite some time now.
Speaking for myself, I wrapped up by stating that creating this video wasn’t about scoring points or seeking validation, but purely to stand up for my friend. However, I fervently hope that by shedding light on the subject, we can collectively work towards preventing VTubers like IronMouse and others from experiencing unjustified hatred.
