CBS Releases First Look for New Daytime Soap Opera ‘Beyond the Gates’ (TV News Roundup)

As a movie enthusiast with a penchant for soaps and a soft spot for industry news, I must admit that I’m quite intrigued by this “Beyond the Gates” series. The concept of a daytime soap set in an affluent African American community is both refreshing and enticing. With such a rich background and promising cast, it certainly seems to be stepping out of the usual soap opera mold.

CBS unveiled a sneak peek of “Beyond the Gates,” their brand-new daytime soap opera set to premiere next year, taking over the timeslot previously occupied by “The Talk.” This project marks the first collaboration between CBS Studios and the NAACP.

As I delve into the captivating world of “Beyond the Gates,” I find myself in a lush, affluent suburb just beyond Washington, D.C., home to one of America’s most prosperous African American counties. This gated community, adorned with winding tree-lined streets and opulent mansions, is where the esteemed Dupree family resides – a dynasty that embodies Black royalty. However, beneath the pristine facade and meticulously maintained gardens, there lurk secrets and scandals yet to be revealed. The eyes of those outside the gates are ever watchful, as they observe the lives, loves, work, and play of the residents – both those who have ‘made it’ and those still striving. Navigating life within these walls is a delicate dance, and some manage with more finesse than others.

The show titled “Beyond the Gates,” produced in collaboration with P&G Studios, is set to debut on February 24th. You can catch it weekdays at 2 p.m. Eastern Time or 1 p.m. Pacific Time on CBS. It will also be available for streaming on Paramount+. The star-studded cast includes Tamara Tunie, Clifton Davis, Daphnee Duplaix, Karla Mosley, Alex Alegria, Lauren Buglioli, Brandon Claybon, Timon Kyle Durrett, Sean Freeman, Ben Gavin, Marquita Goings, Jibre Hordges, Jen Jacob, Maurice Johnson, Trisha Mann-Grant, Mike Manning, RhonniRose Mantilla, Ambyr Michelle, Colby Muhammad, and Arielle Prepetit.
