Rumors are circulating about a potential Catwoman series that could take place after *The Batman Part 2* and before a possible third movie. The show would reportedly follow Selina Kyle’s adventures during that time, but there’s been no official announcement yet.
Rumor suggests a Catwoman series will happen between The Batman 2 and 3
According to industry reporter Jeff Sneider on The Hot Mic podcast, a Catwoman series is in development, potentially taking place between the second and third Batman films, if a third one is made. He indicated this had been the intention all along.
Fans are buzzing about a letter Selina Kyle sends to Sofia Falcone in the finale of The Penguin, suggesting a potential storyline for Sofia down the road.
Lauren LeFranc, the showrunner for ‘The Penguin,’ explained the importance of the letter Selina Kyle sends in the finale. She told TheWrap that the letter is meaningful because the show has always focused on the character’s feelings of disconnection from her family, their betrayals, and her overall loneliness. The letter reveals she isn’t as alone as she thinks.
LeFranc added that the woman actually has previously unknown family living there, which could offer a chance for them to connect in the future.
Despite rumors, Casey Bloys, the CEO of HBO and Max, confirmed last year that there were no plans for a Catwoman series. In an interview with TVLine, Bloys explained they were primarily discussing potential future stories for The Penguin, and wanted to give him time to develop his own movie. He also expressed hope that The Penguin’s creative team, including Matt Reeves and showrunner Lauren LeFranc, would come up with another project they were enthusiastic about.
Matt Reeves recently shared some updates about the next Batman movie. He confirmed the villain will have a personal connection to Bruce Wayne’s past. Reeves said they were looking for a villain who would explore Wayne’s history and life, and they’ve chosen someone who’s never been featured as a movie villain before. He’s excited about the choice and keeping the details under wraps for now.
He explained that the next movie will explore Bruce Wayne’s life outside of being Batman, and Sofia Falcone won’t be appearing in it.
