The remastered version of Oblivion is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, though a specific release date hasn’t been announced. While a release for other platforms in 2025 was widely expected due to leaks, this Switch 2 version was a surprise reveal. Oblivion Remastered is an open-world fantasy role-playing game set in the Tamriel Empire during a dangerous event called the Oblivion Crisis, where portals to otherworldly planes are appearing across the land of Cyrodiil.

The remastered version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion became available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store on April 22, 2025.

In the final part of his article, Jason Schreier explains that Obsidian Entertainment intends to balance working on large-scale projects with smaller ones. This includes entirely new games, as well as updates and expansions for both The Outer Worlds 2 and Grounded 2.
