As I’ve been watching this series, the way Charles Guiteau was able to get close to President Garfield really struck me. It’s become a powerful symbol of how regular people like us are supposed to connect with our government. And honestly, Guiteau definitely deserves all the frustration he gets from anyone in a position of power – he’s clearly out there. But it also made me think about how often, throughout American history – and even right now! – we all feel like our voices aren’t really being heard by the people we elect. The show does a great job of showing Garfield trying to fix that disconnect, and this episode especially highlights his struggle. It’s just… realistically, meeting with anyone who wants to talk, especially people who aren’t vetted, five days a week isn’t sustainable. Still, when it comes down to it, Garfield clearly believes in being accessible to the public, and that’s where he chooses to make his stand.

According to Variety, Organic Media Group announced at the Taiwan Creative Content Fest that they’re creating a Chinese-language version of Call My Agent!. The show will center on the entertainment world in Taiwan, but they hope to attract viewers across the broader Chinese-speaking market. It will also be available to watch in the United States through Golden TV.

The new movie, as you might expect from the description, features a time loop and follows a smuggler navigating the dangerous Caribbean, complete with sharks and plenty of corpses. This isn’t Keanu Reeves’ first venture into creative science fiction – he’s well-known for his roles in iconic sci-fi series, though not every film he’s been in has been a hit.

Disney+ has unveiled a new trailer for Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. They always write their films together, but Fastvold’s work usually feels more realistic – at least, it did until now. The preview offers few story details, focusing instead on rhythmic clapping and quick cuts between dancing and scenes of colonial life. Amanda Seyfried looks fantastic – vulnerable, powerful, and full of emotion. It’s surprising this is her first musical since the quirky Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. She’s joined by Christopher Abbott, who was excellent in Fastvold’s previous film, The World to Come, along with Lewis Pullman and Thomasin McKenzie, who plays a character with limited vision. Fastvold brings religious scenes to life with music by Daniel Blumberg, who reimagines traditional Shaker spirituals. The Testament of Ann Lee has the potential to be the best musical experience of the decade. Overall, it looks incredible, so get ready to embrace the energy and enjoy the show.
