It’s normal for a pope to want to meet famous Catholics, or even celebrities who work in similar fields – like when Pope Francis met with several comedians. But the celebrities Pope Leo wants to meet seem completely chosen at random. This unusual list raises a lot of questions: Has Pope Leo seen the film Tár? Did he believe Mad Max: Fury Road deserved to win Best Picture instead of Spotlight, considering the latter’s topic? And does Pope Leo have an opinion on the controversial decision made by Mark S. at the end of season two of Severance?

Marty Supreme Goes Balls to the Wall

Fans of the Safdie brothers’ Uncut Gems will find a similar frantic energy in this new film, even though Benny Safdie isn’t involved. Like Adam Sandler’s character in Uncut Gems, the main character, Marty, is constantly rushing around New York City and clashing with those around him. Gwyneth Paltrow plays Kay Stone, a wealthy and spoiled wife and former actress, and she starts the trailer by scolding Marty. Kevin O’Leary, known as Mr. Wonderful from Shark Tank, also appears as her husband, Milton Rockwell, and delivers lines sounding very much like himself. Tyler, the Creator, plays Marty’s close friend, Wally, and Odessa A’zion, currently starring in I Love LA, plays his girlfriend, Rachel, and passionately asks, “Have you ever thought about what you’re doing to me?” (Fran Drescher will also appear as Marty’s mother, but isn’t in this trailer.) Marty Supreme will be released on Christmas, making it Timothée Chalamet’s third Christmas movie in three years. The question is, will it be as successful as Wonka and A Complete Unknown? Marty Mauser certainly hopes so.
