The recent books, much like the latest seasons of the TV show which covered Blood of Elves and Time of Contempt, heavily center on Ciri and her incredibly difficult life. This focus has largely removed the humor that used to be a key part of The Witcher. While others may feel differently, I really miss when the stories weren’t constantly about preventing global catastrophe. It’s tough to enjoy the adventures when everything feels so overwhelmingly serious and filled with dread.

In Macau, the film’s main character, played by Colin Farrell, feels like an outsider – a ‘gweilo,’ or foreign ghost, practically invisible to those around him. He narrates that this anonymity allows him to reinvent himself. The story’s central twist is that he’s deliberately playing a role: pretending to be a wealthy British lord named Lord Doyle. He adopts the trappings of the upper class – silk scarves, a neatly trimmed mustache, and a pair of leather gloves he claims are from a prestigious tailor on Savile Row. It doesn’t really matter if anyone believes his act; people are happy to take his money. However, by the film’s beginning, his funds are dwindling, and he’s trying to avoid paying the hefty bills he’s accumulated for his luxurious hotel suite and room service.

According to Burt Kearns, co-director of the documentary All the Presidents’ Movies, the White House screening room felt incredibly personal – like the president was inviting guests into his home to relax and watch a movie. Kearns and co-director Brett Hudson explored the history of cinema in the White House, using detailed records kept by Paul Fischer, the theater projectionist who served from the Eisenhower to Reagan administrations. Fischer meticulously noted not only the films shown – over 5,000 of them – but also who attended each screening, offering a unique look at pop culture’s influence on historical events. Following the recent demolition of parts of the East Wing, Vulture spoke with Kearns about the theater’s significance – it was far more than just a 42-seat viewing space.

Kevin Williamson, the original writer, returned to direct the seventh Scream movie, with a script by Guy Busick. Neve Campbell is back as Sidney Prescott after not appearing in Scream VI, and she’s joined by returning cast members Courteney Cox, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Roger L. Jackson, and David Arquette. New to the series are Joel McHale, playing Sidney’s husband Mark Evans, and Isabel May as her daughter, Tatum.

That’s Matthew Lillard, and it’s been a while since he appeared in a Scream movie – his character was Ghostface in the very first one, and those guys rarely survive past the first film! However, his voice is definitely in the new trailer, and he’s officially part of the cast for the seventh Scream. It’s still a mystery how they’ll bring him back, what role he’ll play, and whether his character is even still alive.

Details about Scream 7 are scarce, making this first look at the film especially exciting. The story brings back the beloved Sidney Prescott, who now has to shield her family—including her daughter, Tatum (played by Isabel May), named as a nod to the original movie—from a new Ghostface killer.

The fifth and final season of Stranger Things will be released in three parts during the holidays. The first four episodes will premiere on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2025. Three more episodes will be available on Christmas, and the last three—the season finale—will arrive on New Year’s Eve. Netflix hopes to create a huge global event, and the show’s recent trailer hints at the intense conclusion to come.
