The trailer for Michael broke records, gaining 116.2 million views worldwide in its first 24 hours, according to data from WaveMetrix reported by Screen Rant. This makes it the most-viewed trailer ever for a musical biopic or concert film. It outperformed the first-day view count of the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour trailer (96.1 million views), as well as trailers for Bob Marley: One Love (60.1 million views), Bohemian Rhapsody (57.6 million views), and A Complete Unknown (47.2 million views).
