The trailer for Michael broke records, gaining 116.2 million views worldwide in its first 24 hours, according to data from WaveMetrix reported by Screen Rant. This makes it the most-viewed trailer ever for a musical biopic or concert film. It outperformed the first-day view count of the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour trailer (96.1 million views), as well as trailers for Bob Marley: One Love (60.1 million views), Bohemian Rhapsody (57.6 million views), and A Complete Unknown (47.2 million views).

Released in 2019, this action comedy—directed by Michael Dowse, who also directed Bautista’s recent film, Trap House—features Kumail Nanjiani as an Uber driver who unwittingly picks up Bautista’s character, a tough cop, while trailing a murderer. While the movie did reasonably well at the box office and received a positive audience score of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes, critics were much less impressed, giving it a “rotten” score of 43%.
