Two years after being found not guilty on nine sexual assault charges in the UK, Kevin Spacey has largely been shut out of Hollywood. Despite this, Spacey recently told The Telegraph he believes influential figures in the industry want to see him return to work. He feels a single call from a director like Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino would be enough to revive his career, saying he’d be “incredibly honored and delighted” to receive such an offer, and that he thinks it will happen. While he may be right that a call from either director could change things, the fact that hasn’t happened yet is significant.

House of the Dragon delivered two seasons that were as good as the show’s prime, and the upcoming A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is also looking promising. Aaron Schmidt joins as an executive producer through Millar/Gough Ink, and Stephen Christy and Adam Yoelin will executive produce for Boom! Studios. Mette Norkjaer will co-executive produce with Phillips and Flaviano, the creators of the original comic book series. That series launched in 2022 and quickly became popular, running for 25 successful issues before concluding earlier this month.

As a huge Disney fan, I’ve noticed something interesting. When a Disney movie does really well, they almost always make more movies set in that same world with the same characters. But honestly, most of the sequels just don’t live up to the original – they rarely do as well with audiences or critics. I was thinking about some of the lesser-known sequels recently, and you know what? Five of them actually hold up pretty well when you compare them to other Disney follow-ups. They’re not masterpieces, but they’re better than people give them credit for!
