I was listening to an interview with Zach Cregger on the Crew Call podcast, and he said something pretty surprising. When asked if the older Resident Evil movies influenced his approach to the new one, he admitted he’s actually never seen them! He quickly clarified, though, that he’s a huge fan of the games – he’s played them constantly and feels like a real expert on the Resident Evil franchise as a whole. So, it’s all about the games for him, not the films!

The strange event called the Joining, which has dramatically changed the world, appears to have come from somewhere outside of Earth. However, the source of the genetic code behind it remains a mystery. The show’s creator, Vince Gilligan, seems content to leave the origins of the Joining unexplained, choosing instead to focus on its impact on the characters and the world around them. This approach aligns with his previous work, most notably Breaking Bad, which prioritized character development. Despite this, Gilligan is slowly revealing more about the Joining throughout the first season, weaving its unusual premise into the ongoing narrative.

Hallmark’s calendar this year includes appearances by Aaron Samuels, Superman, and Sue Heck in the new movie A Keller Family Christmas. However, many Millennials are already looking forward to next Christmas, when the Netflix adaptation of Katherine Center’s novel The Bodyguard will be released. Leighton Meester and Jared Padalecki announced the project on Thursday, joined by the book’s author.

Characters like Hawkgirl, Static Shock, and the Question have a lot to offer a TV series. With their unique abilities, rich histories, and compelling personal stories, they could become major stars in the DC Universe if given their own spotlight. The movie Old centers around a group of tourists who visit a remote tropical resort and find themselves rapidly aging while on the beach. It’s been described as “a beach that makes you old.” Interestingly, Old is different from many of M. Night Shyamalan’s other films because it’s based on a 2011 graphic novel, but with a changed conclusion.

Following the events of The Family Plan, Dan (formerly Sean McCaffery) has traded selling used cars for a career in high-tech security. Things seem relatively calm for the family, though their eldest daughter, Nina, is refusing to fly home for Christmas from her study abroad program in England – and it’s easy to see why, given her father’s overbearing nature. Mark Wahlberg’s public image as a devoted family man is very strong throughout the series, and the actor frequently delivers lines filled with anxious, over-the-top expressions of concern for his children. It’s a bit much, and frankly, repetitive.
