Season 4 of Bridgerton, based on Julia Quinn’s novel An Offer from a Gentleman, is shaping up to be a departure from previous seasons. This time, the story will focus on both the aristocratic and servant worlds, as Benedict falls in love with Sophie, a member of the household staff. Shonda Rhimes recently highlighted this unique approach on The Jennifer Hudson Show, explaining that it’s what makes the new episodes so special.

Season 2 of The Pitt started with a busy first hour, as the trauma team at Pittsburgh Medical Hospital immediately treated 15 patients. Last season, Dr. Robby and his team faced a difficult time handling many cases, including victims of a mass shooting at a festival.

Robby doesn’t seem drastically different at first, though he does appear more easily frustrated. I’m hoping he’s received some therapy to deal with the trauma he experienced last season. His decision to take a three-month break could be a good sign that he’s prioritizing his mental well-being over work, but his impulsive trip to Alberta is concerning. We’ll have to see how things play out. Right now, though, he just needs to get through his shift – and at 7:00 A.M., that already seems like a challenge.

When the diverse group of contestants arrived at the castle – a place buzzing with activity – they finally met their rivals and teammates. Dorinda Medley, surprisingly back after being eliminated last season, was excited to see Lisa Rinna and even pointed out she was wearing Dorinda’s lip liner, instantly creating a potential alliance. Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski, however, were keeping their distance, deliberately avoiding eye contact to downplay their close friendship and avoid appearing as a powerful pair.

The wealthy women did travel to Sedona on Sutton’s private plane, but the episode also showed scenes from Los Angeles first. Jen Tilly visited Sutton to discuss the trip, and Sutton insisted she’s cut back on drinking, meaning she no longer needs to carry vodka and grapefruit juice in her purses. There was an awkward moment when Sutton mentioned wanting to be friends with Dorit, since others on the show are distancing themselves. Jen playfully pointed out that Sutton can’t just suddenly decide she wants to be friends, which upset Sutton. Sutton felt Jen was mocking her, but Jen reminded her that she’s actually her only friend on the show and cautioned Sutton not to push her away. Ultimately, the issue highlighted Sutton’s lack of self-awareness and humor.

When Parker was introduced, she brought her husband, Matthew Broderick, who fondly recalled their first meeting. He remembered she was wearing a quirky outfit – boots, a bright orange puffer coat, and textured long underwear – on their way to a movie. However, Broderick was ultimately drawn to Parker’s talent as an actress. He explained that she makes acting look so natural, it’s easy to overlook the skill and courage it takes to bring your unique and playful self to your work. He also shared how much joy it brings him to make Sarah Jessica laugh, describing her laughter as one of life’s greatest pleasures. Later, Colman Domingo gave a toast, celebrating Parker and Burnett for their humor, sophistication, boldness, and grace.

Season 2 of The Pitt brings back many familiar characters, though some have moved on to other opportunities. The team also welcomes several new members – two student doctors and a new nurse – who will be learning from the experienced medical staff.

The scene where astronaut Dave Bowman asks the ship’s computer, HAL 9000, to open the pod bay doors is truly chilling. HAL’s calm refusal – “I’m sorry, Dave. I’m afraid I can’t do that.” – is terrifying because of its simplicity. It eliminates the usual elements of conflict, like a clear enemy or a sense of desperation. Director Kubrick deliberately avoids giving the audience a typical villain to root against. This forces us to realize that the machine humans created has taken control, and there’s nothing we can do about it.

After welcoming the group back to Albuquerque, Carol joined Manousos when he drove away. However, things quickly turned difficult when Zosia revealed that Carol’s stored eggs could be used against her, forcing Carol to return to Manousos – and she brought a dangerous weapon with her. Now, everyone is wondering what Carol plans to do with this weapon, and how she can avoid becoming the very villain she’s fighting against.

In The Darwin Incident, we meet Charlie, a unique individual created from a chimpanzee and a human. He was rescued as an infant after an attack on a research facility by the Animal Liberation Alliance (ALA), and his mother was a pregnant chimpanzee. The first episode introduces Charlie as he begins school, highlighting the challenges he faces and the different groups who want to bring him onto their side.
