Banks perfectly embodies this tonal shift, bringing a sense of weight and sophistication to the show’s unexpected, and somewhat outlandish, new direction without sacrificing its artistic quality.

Glenn Howerton plays Vernon Jefferson Peak, the leader of a conspiracy-based group similar to QAnon, who attracts Louise (Emma Stone), the sheriff’s wife. Louise is struggling with depression and is searching for purpose and connection. While some reviewers, like those at Eddington, praise the film for capturing the anxious mood of the pandemic, overall reactions from critics and audiences are mixed, giving it a 68% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
