As a fan, I always felt like Love Story was pulling itself in so many directions. It seemed to want to both expose and celebrate the intense media frenzy around John and Carolyn Kennedy, while also trying to understand their relationship. It was trying to critique the Kennedy family’s rigid ways, but also romanticize them, and even feel sorry for them – all at the same time! They wanted to make John and Carolyn feel like both regular people and untouchable icons. Carolyn was meant to be captivating but also guarded, and John, sensitive but flawed. Ultimately, it felt like it was trying to be a juicy soap opera and a serious drama, but it never quite managed to fully commit to either, and it didn’t really dig deep into the complicated truths of the story.

Netflix has a growing lineup of shows planned for 2026, covering many different genres. Crime series, however, are particularly popular with viewers. Early this year, both His & Hers, starring Jon Bernthal, and the series based on Harlan Coben’s Run Away quickly became top hits on the streaming platform.

I’m a huge fan, and I was so excited to hear Gillian Anderson talk about the new script! She recently read it and said she was really impressed. She even addressed our concerns – you know how protective we all are of the original! She was at a convention in Washington and told everyone she’d read it and thought it was fantastic, urging us not to be too quick to judge. She described it as both very different and very similar to what we already love, and she said it’s truly special. It’s such a relief to hear her say that!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe often brings former rivals together to team up against bigger threats. This happens again in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, specifically in the first episode, “The Northern Star,” where Bullseye unexpectedly saves Daredevil’s life while they’re both facing off against a team led by Wilson Fisk.

The historical drama, released in theaters in late 2025, didn’t perform well at the box office, earning less than $4 million. While it received nominations from some awards organizations, it didn’t gain much attention from the Academy Awards.

While the Jurassic Park and World films uniquely deliver a sense of wonder and thrills, the franchise also has incredible potential as a TV series, as proven by one of Netflix’s top shows. If you’re hoping for a compelling and dramatic Jurassic Park story with well-developed characters, you’ve found it.

Besides other popular shows, Netflix offers mind-bending sci-fi like Dark, known for its complex and well-developed storyline about time travel. Travelers also explores time travel, but focuses on sending consciousness back to the past. For sci-fi fans, this series is a standout, and its consistently high quality across all seasons makes it worth watching.

Rick Gomez makes his directorial debut with “She Dances,” a film he co-wrote with Steve Zahn. The story follows a father and daughter who reconnect on an unplanned road trip – a familiar storyline, but Gomez and Zahn bring a fresh perspective that makes the film special. While the basic idea isn’t groundbreaking, their approach is what truly stands out.

As reported by Variety, John Powell will be the voice of the iconic Star Fox pilot in the new animated movie, which will expand the world of Nintendo films.

This week on The Tonight Show, Flea delivered a fantastic jazz rendition of Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin Bout You.” A particularly fun detail was that Flea and his band all wore what looked like the same $300 shirt – a clever idea, whether it came from Flea himself, the director, or someone like Donna from SNL.
