While The Beauty tries to make a point about society’s obsession with looks and self-image, it gets bogged down in absurdity, with over-the-top physical transformations. Think lots of strange fluids and a bit like a more adult version of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles origin story. However, the show is interesting because it portrays almost all its characters as fundamentally flawed, all feeling disconnected between how they see themselves inside and how they appear on the outside.
