Dhruv Sehgal, co-writer of Netflix’s “Little Things,” and Banerjee will collaborate on writing the script for this project.

One intriguing take on the medieval theme, “A Knight’s Tale,” draws inspiration from Geoffrey Chaucer’s work. It’s largely influenced by “The Knight’s Tale,” the first story in a collection known as “The Canterbury Tales” from the 1400s. The movie, directed by Baz Luhrmann, significantly updates the original concept and offers an exciting blend of action, humor, and a captivating portrayal of the late, beloved actor Heath Ledger. In contrast to other shows, “The Neighborhood” season 8 has a unique advantage: it was announced as its final season way back in March 2025, giving the creators ample time to plan the ending. Even though a spinoff featuring Tracy Morgan is still in the works, this foreknowledge allows the creators to provide a more intentional and heartfelt farewell to the beloved characters, rather than ending abruptly.
