It’s common to revisit an artist’s work when they pass away, and with Robert Redford’s recent passing, many will want to do just that. This list offers five of my favorite, and perhaps less obvious, Redford performances and films he directed. I’ve left out his most famous works – *Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid*, *All the President’s Men*, and *Ordinary People* – assuming most fans have already seen those. These selections are a little deeper cuts, but are equally, if not more, rewarding.

The actress known for *Alias* posted a series of photos on Instagram (see them below), and fans quickly noticed the first one. It’s a candid shot of her preparing to play Elektra, the famous Marvel character she originally portrayed in films from Fox.

The story of the Infinity Stones came to a head with Thanos, who used their power to wipe out half of all life in the universe. But Thanos wasn’t the first to collect all six stones. Whoever controls such immense power always faces huge consequences, and often makes significant personal sacrifices – sometimes more than others.

The pretense of acceptance is broken yet again by public displays of joy over pain and loss. This is putting pressure on platforms like BlueSky, which say they’re trying to limit violent speech, to prove they’ll take action.

Robert Redford, born in Santa Monica, California in 1936, quickly became a popular leading actor in Hollywood. He first gained widespread recognition for his charming performance alongside Paul Newman in the 1969 film *Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid*. Redford cemented his status as a romantic leading man with roles opposite Jane Fonda in *Barefoot in the Park*, Barbra Streisand in *The Way We Were*, and Meryl Streep in *Out of Africa*. Throughout his career, he excelled in diverse genres, appearing in films like *Three Days of Condor*, *The Old Man and the Gun*, *Quiz Show*, and even *Avengers: Endgame*, among many others.

The first Batman Day was celebrated on July 23, 2014, during the San Diego Comic Con and marked the 75th anniversary of Batman’s comic book debut. Since then, it’s typically been held on a Saturday in September. In 2025, Batman Day will be on Saturday, September 20th.

As a movie lover, I truly believe this isn’t the moment to be picky! We should be celebrating as many great films and performances as possible and making a strong case for them to get the awards they deserve. The Toronto International Film Festival last week was the perfect place to do just that. It had everything – films that had already wowed audiences at Cannes and Sundance, some fresh off premieres at Venice or Telluride, and a whole bunch of brand new movies debuting at TIFF, from Rian Johnson’s *Wake Up Dead Man* to John Early’s *Maddie Secret*. It was a fantastic showcase of everything cinema has to offer.

Haruo Sotozaki directed *Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle*, the first of three planned movies adapting the final chapters of the manga. Picking up right after the end of Season 4, the film throws the entire Demon Slayer Corps into a massive battle against Muzan and his most powerful demons, the Upper Ranks.

The new *Tron* movie, *Tron: Ares*, is set 14 years after the events of *Tron: Legacy*. Producer Justin Springer recently told GamesRadar+ that the film, starring Greta Lee, Jared Leto, and returning actor Jeff Bridges, continues the story from where the previous movie left off. He explained, “We’re telling a story that’s 14 years later.”

I’ve been hoping Noah Wyle would win an Emmy ever since his days on *ER* back in 2000, so I’m thrilled *The Pitt* finally brought him that recognition. The medical drama received a total of thirteen Emmy nominations and won five awards: Outstanding Drama Series, with Noah Wyle winning Outstanding Lead Actor, Katherine LaNasa taking Outstanding Supporting Actress, Shawn Hatosy from *Chicago P.D.* winning Outstanding Guest Actor, and the show earning Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series. Wyle also contributed to the Outstanding Drama Series win as an executive producer.
