Animal shelter raises $11,000 with 450 poorly drawn pets

The animal shelter asked people nationwide to donate and send in pictures of their pets – dogs, cats, even turtles! In exchange, volunteers at the shelter created portraits, and the quality varied wildly, from beautifully detailed to endearingly amateur. These quirky results quickly became popular online as people shared the portraits on social media.

Cows painted as zebras win Ig Nobel Prize for deterring flies

So, I was reading about this really weird study that got an award – it’s called the Ig Nobel Prize, and it’s basically for research that’s funny but also makes you think. They had the 35th annual ceremony recently, on September 18th at Boston University, and it’s run by a magazine called Annals of Improbable Research. It’s always a good time seeing what crazy stuff scientists are figuring out!

The “Short” story of Bannerlord’s War Sails DLC. Naval blockades, pirates, and all we know about the Nords so far

So, TaleWorlds just dropped a little info about how naval blockades are going to work in the game, and it looks pretty cool. Basically, when you show up at a coastal town with your ships to lay siege, a blockade automatically kicks in. From there, you’ve got a few choices. You can fight it out with the enemy fleet, pull back, or try to send supplies and reinforcements to the town by sea. If you win a naval battle, the blockade stays up. Lose, and it’s over. If you just withdraw, the land siege continues, but the enemy can still get supplies in by water. To really help the town, you can either break through the blockade or just go straight for the enemy fleet and take them down.
