Reanimal is a game where you solve puzzles, sneak around, and explore a strange, unsettling world. You control a brother and sister as they journey through the remains of a ruined island, figuring out how to overcome obstacles and avoiding monsters that appear to be born from painful memories. Instead of fighting, you’ll focus on staying alive, and the strong bond between the siblings is the most important part of the game.
As a Switch fan, I’m really digging these latest updates! Nintendo’s adding new icons to show if a game is a physical cartridge or a digital download – the physical ones will have red icons, and digital games will have black ones, which is a nice touch. But the biggest changes seem to be for the Switch 2. They’ve tweaked GameChat so your game won’t pause when you’re chatting with friends online, which is awesome. And they’ve even made the battery charging limit setting more user-friendly – it now clearly says “Stop Charging Around 80-90%” instead of something more technical. It’s little things like these that make the Switch experience even better!

Lumines hasn’t seen a major release in about ten years. The new game, Arise, adds a synesthetic element, but the basic gameplay remains the same. Blocks made up of four colored squares fall onto a grid. Your goal is to arrange these blocks so that squares of the same color touch, merging them into larger areas. Bigger merged areas mean higher scores.
This game features a man stuck in a time loop with a twist: each loop alters his abilities and identity. As you play, you retain memories and knowledge from previous loops, which unlocks new conversations and possibilities as the story progresses.
Interestingly enough, for a period, the game Lumines – a title released with the PlayStation Portable and made by Tetsuya Mizuguchi of Enhance – held that same reputation.
