Ghoul Garden will launch right after the Chubby Chipmunk event, starting on October 11th, 2025, at 10:00 AM Eastern Time. We haven’t announced an end date yet.

According to Douse, the games industry doesn’t need more games designed through complex formulas and psychological manipulation. What it really needs are more immersive and engaging worlds. While AI can be helpful, we already have plenty of tools; the real issue is a lack of strong leadership and clear creative vision. AI won’t fix the core problem – the industry needs better direction.

Michael Douse, the publishing director of Larian Studios, wrote:

Crusader Kings 3 recently let players explore life as a nomadic leader in Mongolia. But the next expansion will take the game even further, adding China and Japan, and the rest of East and Southeast Asia, to the map.

Okay, so it’s a little confusing! The blog said it’s out *now*, but the official Final Fantasy post says we can actually get it starting December 4th. I’m hoping to pre-order it soon – they said it’ll be available on the Square Enix store and at some other retailers. I’m also really curious if the Episode Intermission content for the Remake is still a digital code, or if it’s now included on the disc itself – they haven’t said anything about that yet!

Sackbird is a newly formed game development studio. It was created by developers who lost their jobs when ZeniMax Online Studios cancelled their unreleased MMO, codenamed Project Blackbird, in June 2025.

I’m really enjoying Absolum! It’s a modern take on those classic beat-’em-ups from the early days of video games – you know, the ones you fed quarters to at the arcade. Those games were designed to be super replayable, but also pretty tough, to keep you coming back for more. Honestly, that difficulty really works with the roguelike elements in Absolum. It just *feels* right, and it makes the game incredibly fun to play again and again. I can’t get enough of it!

As a fan of this game, I’ve found there’s a really helpful way to approach this boss that makes the fight much more manageable – basically, a way to get a little boost beforehand. It’s something you’ll want to figure out pretty early on, though, because like most roguelikes, you can’t backtrack, so choosing your path wisely from the start is key!

So, NPC Studio just dropped their plans for Fields of Mistria on X, and it looks like Update 4 is coming out early 2026, which will finally wrap up the story in The Mines. They haven’t given a specific date yet, but they said the full 1.0 version of the game should be released sometime in 2026, and they’ve given us a peek at a lot of the cool stuff they’re working on!

Game File spoke with five people who currently or previously worked at the company. They said the project was cancelled in the summer of 2024, in part because of the reaction to Yasuke, the Black samurai character in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. However, the main reason for the cancellation was worry about the political climate in the United States.
