During a recent livestream discussing the Renegades expansion, Bungie announced updates to Destiny’s annual Halloween event. In addition to the usual release of themed cosmetic gear and unique weapons, developers unveiled a new six-person cooperative Player vs Environment (PvE) activity and a three-person Player vs Player (PvP) activity.
Following Bungie’s change in the seasonal format post-Episode Heresy, Ash & Iron serves as a significant update within the looter shooter’s mid-expansion. It’s uncertain exactly what this update will bring aside from what’s already been revealed.
The first notable feature is the Super Retina XDR display, enhanced with Ceramic Shield 2 for improved durability, and capable of supporting a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Destiny Rising, a free-to-play RPG from NetEase, has been announced as one of the initial iOS games set to leverage this 120Hz technology.
Crafted by Oreville Studios, the Superman expansion (costing 1,510 Minecoins) offers a collection of 11 character skins. With this addition, you can embody Superman and utilize his distinctive abilities such as super strength, heat vision, and super breath to combat villains like Lex Luthor within Metropolis. The game also allows you to explore Superman’s Fortress of Solitude or enjoy some downtime with Krypto, his trusty dog companion.
The demo for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S users will be released on September 11. If you’re playing on Steam, however, you might get access to the demo as early as September 10.
