A recent survey by Atomik Research, called “The State of PC Game Distribution,” reveals insights from 306 industry leaders in the US and UK. The findings were shared through the PC platform Rokky, as reported by GamesIndustry.biz. The survey was conducted in May of this year.

Squires, the new director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), has requested a review of Nintendo’s patent (No. 12,403,397). This patent, often described as covering “summoning characters and making them fight,” was filed by Nintendo in January 2023 and granted in September 2025. Squires’s office is now investigating whether this type of feature can actually be patented.
