It’s a stylish shooter designed for co-op play, where you and a friend work together to defeat enemies by dodging bullets, controlling time, and using your surroundings. The bundle also includes more standard shooters, such as Contracts Shadow: ExfilZone. For those who like dark fantasy dungeon crawlers, Amid Evil VR provides a fast-paced, close-combat experience with movement and level design inspired by classic games like Quake.

Older beat ’em up games were enjoyable, but once you finished them, there wasn’t much reason to play again besides trying to beat your high score. Modern games in this style are different – they’re actually designed to be completed and offer rewards that keep you playing. Things like leveling up your character, unlocking new weapons, or getting access to new characters give you a reason to keep playing even after you’ve seen the ending.

The developers of Arc Raiders initially recorded voice actors, then used that data to train AI to replicate their voices for any situation in the game. This means they don’t need to bring the actors back every time new content is added – the AI learns to speak like them, with the actors’ permission. This approach isn’t new for the team, as their previous game, The Finals, also uses similar AI technology. While Embark has confirmed all the game’s visual art is created by humans, they admitted the AI voices are used for shopkeepers, emotes, and other minor character dialogue. This has made me feel uncertain about how much I want to praise the game, despite enjoying it.

Developer Gabor Fodor announced an update to PortalVR that allows players to use their Quest headset as a tracking device connected to a computer, letting them access the full range of games and experiences available on SteamVR. Instead of wearing the Quest as a virtual reality headset, the game is displayed on a regular monitor, and players use their Quest controllers to play.

Jordon Reese, a product manager at Aspyr, recently discussed the potential for bringing Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider to the Switch 2 in an interview with Nintendo Everything. While he didn’t confirm the games are coming, he didn’t rule it out either, suggesting they could still happen.
