Each game can only be featured in Steam Next Fest once, so you won’t see repeat demos from earlier this year. While some demos might remain on Steam after the event next week, that’s not a certainty. Many demos are only available during this week, so be sure to try them out while you have the chance. And don’t forget to add games you like to your wishlist – it really helps small developers!

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Sees Another Switch 2 Listing Pop Up

On October 13th, Eurogamer noted that the retailer Auchan listed a version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows for the upcoming Switch 2. While a release date wasn’t provided, the listing revealed it would be a “Game Key Card” – a physical format that’s received criticism because the game data itself isn’t on the card and must be downloaded online.

Canceled Avatar: The Last Airbender Fighting Game Is Back

A new fighting game, currently called Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, was announced at a celebration of Avatar: The Last Airbender’s 20th anniversary during New York Comic Con. It’s planned to come out in the summer of 2026 and will initially include 12 characters you can play, with additional characters being added over time through regular updates.

Mortal Kombat 3 Movie Enters Development At New Line

Jeremy Slater, who wrote the script for *Mortal Kombat 2*, will also be writing *Mortal Kombat 3*. This was revealed at New York Comic Con. Slater has previously worked on projects like *Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire*, *The Umbrella Academy*, *Moon Knight*, and *The Exorcist* TV series. It’s currently unknown if Simon McQuoid, who directed the first two *Mortal Kombat* films, will return to direct the third one.
