Each game can only be featured in Steam Next Fest once, so you won’t see repeat demos from earlier this year. While some demos might remain on Steam after the event next week, that’s not a certainty. Many demos are only available during this week, so be sure to try them out while you have the chance. And don’t forget to add games you like to your wishlist – it really helps small developers!
On October 13th, Eurogamer noted that the retailer Auchan listed a version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows for the upcoming Switch 2. While a release date wasn’t provided, the listing revealed it would be a “Game Key Card” – a physical format that’s received criticism because the game data itself isn’t on the card and must be downloaded online.

Gearbox Software revealed details at PAX Australia on October 11th about a new event in their game. In the game’s world, a holiday similar to Christmas, called Mercenary Day, is under threat from a villainous character. Players, as Rush and the vault hunters, must use weapons, explosives, and special abilities to set things right.

Astronomers are puzzled by 3I/ATLAS, the third interstellar object discovered in our solar system. Detected earlier this year, it came from far outside our system and behaves strangely – it spins quickly, glows in an unusual way, and might even produce its own light. This has led to speculation that it could be a man-made object.
