Cassandra: The Chilling Netflix Series with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes Score

If you’re on the hunt for an engaging Netflix show to keep you hooked over the weekend, I’ve got you covered! The series titled “Cassandra” is currently streaming, boasting a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Amidst the abundance of streaming platforms and series vying for our viewing time, choosing what to watch can sometimes seem overwhelming (this week alone has brought new episodes from shows like Severance, Invincible, and Cobra Kai).

2025 promises to be a significant year for Netflix, given that Stranger Things Season 5, Wednesday Season 2, and Squid Game Season 3 are all scheduled to premiere on their platform. This is no small matter.

This year, I’ve found myself spoiled for choice when it comes to entertainment, and guess who’s now gracing the top 10 on streaming platforms? None other than the captivating Cassandra!

What is Cassandra about?

Cassandra is a German science fiction show that centers around an apparently harmless AI household assistant. Yet, as the family settles into their new dwelling, it becomes evident that this seemingly benign entity harbors malicious intentions.

As the original owners met an unexplained end more than half a century ago, Germany’s oldest automated home has remained unoccupied,” the official Netflix summary states.

Today, as Samira joins her relatives, an old virtual assistant named Cassandra stirs from its long sleep. Originally designed in the 1970s to assist a household and deactivated following the demise of the previous residents, Cassandra now perceives a fresh opportunity.

Nevertheless, Cassandra considers herself more than just a caretaker maintaining harmony. Instead, she views herself as a cherished family member, striving hard to avoid solitude again, employing every resource available to her for this purpose.

The limited series comes from Benjamin Gutsche, who also wrote All You Need and Arthurs Gesetz.

Who’s in the Cassandra cast?

Lavinia Wilson takes on the leading character, Cassandra, who has been transferred to a home automation AI system after her consciousness was uploaded. Previously, you might have recognized her from shows like Deutschland 86, 89, and Æon Flux. Alongside her, the cast features:

  • Mina Tander as Samira
  • Michael Klammer as David
  • Joshua Kantara as Fynn
  • Mary Tölle as Juno
  • Franz Hartwig as Horst
  • Elias Grünthal as Peter

Upon getting the manuscript, Wilson first presumed it centered around a character in a wheelchair. “I rushed through it almost immediately as I found it exceptionally well-crafted, and such scripts don’t often find their way to my workspace,” she shared with Vodafone Deutschland.

I was utterly impressed! The portrayal of female characters was superb… It’s refreshingly unexpected, which is just what makes watching a series so enjoyable.

How many episodes are there?

Six installments of Cassandra make up the series, each approximately lasting between 48 and 51 minutes. Therefore, viewing the entire series would take roughly about five hours.

Is it worth watching?

Absolutely! Right now, Cassandra has a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s worth mentioning that among its many achievements, Germany is responsible for one of the most underappreciated Netflix series ever made – Dark.

Collider’s critique states: “Cassandra is less noisy than the company’s movies, yet it remains a stylish, ambitious miniseries with substantial depth. In today’s context, it also serves as a raw, deliberately dissonant expression of feminine fury.

The author noted that Cassandra’s initial presentation was enjoyable, although it hinted at foreseeable storyline progressions. However, they suggested that it might be engaging to continue watching for a couple more episodes. WATCH NOW.
