As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming experience under my belt, I must say that the return of Carrion to Xbox Game Pass is a welcome addition to my gaming library! Having missed out on it during its previous stints on the service, I’m thrilled to finally get the chance to play this unique reverse horror game. The concept of playing as an amorphous creature of unknown origin stalking and consuming those who imprisoned me sounds both intriguing and terrifying, exactly the kind of experience that I crave in my games.
The fact that Carrion is Xbox Game Pass’ first game of the year is also a testament to its quality, and I can’t wait to see what other gems they have in store for us this year. The addition of Road 96, Eternal Strands, Sniper Elite: Resistance, and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector only sweetens the deal, offering a diverse range of genres and gameplay experiences to suit every taste.
I’m particularly excited for Road 96, as its high-octane road trip action set in an ever-changing world seems like a fresh take on the open-world genre. Eternal Strands’ procedurally generated puzzles promise a unique challenge, while Sniper Elite: Resistance and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector will satisfy those craving for more tactical shooter and narrative-driven games respectively.
All in all, I can’t help but feel like the gaming gods have smiled upon me this month. With so many great titles joining Xbox Game Pass, I may never leave my couch again! And to top it off, I’ll be able to play Carrion again, which is a dream come true for this horror-loving gamer.
Oh, and just one more thing: if you don’t believe me when I say that Carrion is a must-play, just remember the old saying – “Don’t mess with the blob from below, or you might end up as its next meal!
Carrion is back on Xbox Game Pass this month for play, having been absent for several years. It last appeared on Game Pass in 2020, 2021, and until mid-2022 when it took a brief hiatus. Carrion marks the first game added to Xbox Game Pass in 2023.
The game’s publishers describe it like this:
In CARRION, you become a mysterious, formless entity in a horror game with a twist. Instead of fleeing from the terror, you’re the one causing it! Roam around and feed on those who have trapped you within this facility, instilling fear and chaos throughout. As you demolish this prison and gain new abilities, your power increases, leading to a climactic quest for revenge.
New games joining Xbox Game Pass in January are Road 96, Eternal Strands, Sniper Elite: Resistance, and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector. Road 96 is set to debut on January 6th, while the remaining titles will be released incrementally throughout the month.
