Cannes Is Still Going for The White Lotus Season 4

Although the 2026 Cannes Film Festival has ended, fans are getting an extended red carpet experience thanks to the filming of The White Lotus season four. Photographers recently captured the cast – including Laura Dern, Marissa Long, and Chris Messina – shooting scenes on the iconic Cannes steps. Dern wowed in a feathered outfit, while Long sparkled in sequins.

Filming for season four had already started on the parts not filmed at Cannes, as Mike White couldn’t attend the Survivor 50 finale in person and had to join remotely. We also learned that enough filming or rehearsals had taken place for Helena Bonham Carter to decide the show wasn’t a good fit. Laura Dern replaced Carter, possibly as someone frustrated with losing her position as a leading actress. Carter left due to disagreements with White, who wanted a more energetic performance. Based on recent photos, it seems Long’s character will play a similar role to Eve Harrington in relation to Dern’s character, who is like Margo Channing.

As a total film buff, I’m already obsessed with the new season of The White Lotus! It’s so cool they’re actually filming at real locations – the Château de la Messardière and Hôtel Martinez are being transformed into the White Lotus hotels in the show, and they’re calling them White Lotus du Cap and White Lotus Cannes. They’re also shooting some scenes in Paris, but the main action will be happening during the Cannes Film Festival. And knowing Cannes, I’m fully expecting a twenty-minute standing ovation at the premiere – it’s going to be epic!
