As a seasoned gamer who’s seen galaxies far, far away and countless virtual worlds, I can confidently say that Void Crew has undeniably found its place among my favorites. With its captivating cooperative space exploration roguelike gameplay, it was initially a bit daunting to think about venturing into the cosmos alone – but boy, was I wrong!
As a spacefaring gamer, I’ve found myself captaining the Void Crew’s vessel, embarking on an epic cooperative journey through the cosmos. With my crew by my side, we navigate the uncharted territories of the galaxy, making decisions that could mean life or death for our spaceship and us. Working in harmony is crucial as we manage ship systems, traverse treacherous landscapes, and fend off hostile alien forces.
Can You Play Void Crew on Your Own?
Since its debut in 2023, the game Void Crew has piqued interest among players regarding its potential for single-player action. To put it simply, absolutely, you can play this game solo. The game mechanics are designed to cater to a lone player, featuring fewer enemies, streamlined objectives, and adjustments during missions. Additionally, when playing alone, you’ll start off with a smaller ship (the suggested setup is the Lone Sentry), complete with AI-controlled turrets and a solo energy cost reduction relic. However, it’s worth noting that missions can be skipped, but progression might feel gradual due to fewer available perk points.
Following over a year’s worth of progress and valuable community input, the Void Crew team proudly unveiled its 1.0 version on November 25, marking the end of Early Access. This latest update is packed with fresh content, as the development team has primarily focused on fine-tuning gameplay for better balance. Numerous modifications have been made to improve the single-player experience, an area that was previously perceived as less polished compared to games specifically designed for solo play.
It’s been found that the B.R.A.I.N. mechanic, crucial for single players, has received a larger adjustment than initially planned. Although turrets can still pack a punch, the modification has made it harder to play independently at the game’s onset because you start with a less potent setup that restricts early-game maneuverability. Fortunately, the creators have acknowledged this issue and plan to rectify it in a forthcoming update.
