Cameron Diaz Trolls Trump By Saying ‘Elon Musk Is Our President,’ Shares New Rule for Acting Career: ‘No More Rom-Coms, Only Mom-Coms’

After an 11-year hiatus from acting, Cameron Diaz has made a comeback in Netflix’s “Back in Action,” marking her first movie press tour in over a decade. During a video interview with Complex alongside co-star Jamie Foxx, the beloved “Charlie’s Angels” actress playfully joked that Elon Musk, not Donald Trump, is our new president. Trump and Musk are close friends, having contributed significant amounts to Trump’s presidential campaign in the previous year.

At some stage during the interview, Foxx brought up the topic of online conspiracy theories with Diaz. In response, she expressed her opinions about extraterrestrial life and shared a hypothesis suggesting that humanity might inhabit Mars in the future.

In terms of today’s technology, it’s apparent that we often find ourselves facing screens rather than conversing with each other verbally,” Diaz explained. “It’s also clear that due to Elon Musk’s leadership, we are advancing towards space travel.

Diaz’s comment left Foxx jaw-dropped. The camera cut to the Oscar winner in humorous shock.

Following his election victory against Kamala Harris, Trump delegated a task to Musk, asking him to streamline the U.S. government system. He suggested that Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, a previous Republican primary contender, would offer external guidance to the administration from what he called the “Department of Streamlined Government.” The acronym DOGE was a playful reference to the Dogecoin cryptocurrency linked with Musk.

Trump stated that these two remarkable Americans would help his administration streamline government, reduce unnecessary regulations, trim excessive spending, and reorganize federal agencies, as he put it in a previous statement. He likened their potential impact to the legendary ‘Manhattan Project’ of the past.

Trump stated that the project by these two would be finished before the nation’s 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026. In his own words, Musk declared: “This move will create a ripple effect throughout the system, and there are many people in government who engage in unnecessary spending!” Musk had previously asserted last October that he could reduce the federal budget by $2 trillion.

For Diaz, landing the role opposite Foxx in the Netflix spy action comedy “Back in Action” marks her return to acting after an 11-year hiatus. Could this signify a permanent comeback of Diaz in Hollywood?

Diaz shared with Empire magazine that he’s unsure about his stance on it and finds it challenging to express himself. He mentioned that if he speaks up, it could solidify something. However, he retains the freedom to refuse any future film projects or accept them if he chooses to. Essentially, he’s keeping his options open and going with whatever feels right for him and his family at any particular moment.

Should Diaz continue acting, she has one rule: “No more rom-coms, only mom-coms.”
