Bungie confirms player compensation after Marathon monetization change

Bungie is updating how players can spend money in Marathon. They’re increasing the amount of in-game currency you get in one of the game’s bundles, and they’ve also shared details about upcoming gameplay improvements coming in the next update.

On March 7th, Bungie announced on X (formerly Twitter) that they’ll be increasing the amount of their $10 premium currency bundle, giving players more for their money.

Bungie increasing Marathon currency bundle and crediting players

Bungie hasn’t announced exactly when, but they will be giving players who bought the bundle before the change an amount of LUX equal to what they would have received with the new, adjusted quantity.

The developer announced that players will receive 20 LUX for every $10 LUX bundle they bought before the update.

Bungie said players who have already purchased the bundle will be credited 20 LUX credits for each purchase.

This credit applies to past purchases, so anyone who bought the bundle before will now get extra currency to match the updated price.

Although Bungie hasn’t announced when the new monetization features will be available, they did share details about gameplay improvements coming in the next update for Marathon.

The next update will add more Med Cabinets and Munitions Crates to the Perimeter map. It will also give players more ammunition when they choose Sponsored Kit loadouts, according to the development team.
