As a devoted cinephile with an insatiable appetite for all things cinema, I can confidently say that the forthcoming Apple Original Film “All Of You” has piqued my interest significantly. The fact that it’s written by the multi-talented Brett Goldstein, who’s been making waves in the industry with his work on shows like “Ted Lasso,” “Shrinking,” and even standup comedy, is a testament to its potential.
Apple Original Films acquires “All Of You,” a subtly science fiction, poignant love story penned by and starring Brett Goldstein.
In the movie, “Ted Lasso’s” former cast member collaborated with director William Bridges (“Black Mirror”) on scriptwriting, and they both starred alongside Imogen Poots (“The Father,” “Vivarium”). This production made its debut at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival and was also showcased at the London Film Festival.
In a world where a novel test brings soulmates to light, “All of You” presents the story of two lifelong friends whose lives are altered by this new development. Over a decade passes as they strive to resist interfering with the courses their lives have taken – marriage, parenthood, joy and sorrow – all while feeling an irrefutable connection that suggests they were meant for each other. The film, starring Steven Cree and Zawe Ashton, is scheduled for a 2025 debut on streaming platforms.
In addition to being award winners, Goldstein and Bridges took on producer roles alongside Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett. This film signifies their latest joint venture, with Goldstein playing a dual role as co-creator and executive producer for the critically acclaimed comedy “Shrinking,” as well as contributing as writer, actor, and co-executive producer for “Lasso.
Goldstein recently completed filming for Kornél Mundruczó’s latest movie, “At The Sea,” a Hungarian production featuring Amy Adams and Murray Bartlett. Additionally, he embarked on his inaugural standup comedy tour, titled “The Second Best Night Of Your Life,” which was a hit in venues throughout the U.S. and Canada, selling out shows with multiple performances.
In his first foray into narrative features, “All of You,” Bridge has previously garnered an Emmy for his work on the “Black Mirror” episode titled “USS Callister.” More recently, he has been responsible for crafting and overseeing the anthology series “Soulmates” for AMC, which is inspired by his short film named “For Life.
As a film enthusiast, I’m eagerly looking forward to some exciting new offerings from Apple. One such movie is “The Gorge,” an action-packed thriller that brings together Miles Teller, Anya Taylor-Joy, and the legendary Sigourney Weaver. Another must-watch is “F1” directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, with Brad Pitt in the lead role. Both of these films are set to hit screens soon!
