Boxing legend will fight Jake Paul “for free” but claims YouTuber is scared

A previous boxing titleholder has expressed interest in squaring off against Jake Paul, following the collapse of his proposed match against Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. Yet, he doubts whether Jake’s team would be willing to engage with him for a bout.

Over the past several years, Jake Paul has been aiming his criticisms at some of the most prominent figures in the fighting sports arena. Specifically, he’s taken shots at Conor McGregor, Dana White, Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, and even Tyson Fury.

For a long time, Jake has had Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez as another major boxing match he hopes to have. The YouTuber who transitioned into boxing firmly believes that they will eventually face each other in the center of the ring.

Initially, it seemed as if the fantasy was about to materialize when news broke out that they had agreed on a fight date for the summer. Yet, unexpectedly, the Mexican superstar opted out of this arrangement and instead signed a four-fight contract with Riyadh Season in Saudi Arabia.

Carl Froch open to Jake Paul fight

As Jake continues his search for an opponent, it’s been reported that ‘The Cobra’, Carl Froch, has expressed interest in stepping into the ring. However, recent discussions with Jake’s team appear to have fallen silent, according to statements made by Froch himself about past negotiations.

He mentioned that rather than provoking them first by challenging Jake Paul, they might approach him seeking a confrontation instead. However, he’s consistently maintained this stance and remains committed to it – he’d be willing to fight Jake Paul without any payment. This was stated on his Froch On Fighting YouTube channel.

They proposed that if you’re participating in the fight without charge, then the entire earnings – including donations, connections, partnerships, and any profits derived from the fight – should be directed towards charity.

I agreed and asked for the contract, intending to sign it and give Jake Paul a good punch that would knock his teeth out. As it turns out, they fell silent. It seems they have no interest in fighting anyone who’s still alive.

In previous encounters, the Cobra has thrown some tests at Jake, going as far as boasting that he could take on the ‘Troublesome One’ with only one arm restrained.

He last fought in 2014 and would need to increase his weight to engage in a match with Jake. Nonetheless, such a bout could prove to be quite intriguing.
