Box office earthquake continues: Fantastic superproduction earned nearly a billion dollars

The highly anticipated sequel, Zootopia 2, premiered at the end of last month, continuing the story from the popular 2016 animated film. The movie quickly became a box office success, drawing large audiences around the globe. Released on November 26th, it has already grossed close to a billion dollars and is one of the top-earning films of 2025.

The new animated film, Zootopia 2, had a fantastic opening weekend, earning over $550 million worldwide. So far, it’s made $955 million, and experts predict it will surpass $1 billion in just a few days.

Currently, Zootopia 2 is the fourth highest-grossing movie of the year, having earned less than Ne Zha 2 ($1.9 billion), Lilo & Stitch ($1.04 billion), and Minecraft: The Movie ($957.9 million). However, it could potentially surpass those last two. A new release, Avatar: Fire and Ash, is expected to perform even better and is coming to theaters next week.

In Zootopia 2, detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are investigating a new case involving a mischievous reptile who is disrupting the peace in Zootopia. Their investigation leads them into the city’s less glamorous areas, and their partnership will be pushed to its limits as they uncover the truth.
